As PGA TOUR player and Caddy For A Cure supporter Bryson DeChambeau was preparing to make history at The Northern Trust – eventually winning the title and becoming only the fourth player ever to win an NCAA Championship, U.S. Amateur Championship, and at least three PGA TOUR events before his 25th birthday – another milestone was being celebrated. During a special ceremony held in the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost Presented by United Rentals, Caddy For A Cure National Spokesperson Christian Collins and his brother, Calen, were honored with the second annual Birdies for the Brave Courage Award. The award was presented by TOUR player Jim Furyk, who along with DeChambeau, is a Birdies for the Brave player supporter. DeChambeau also hosted Caddy For A Cure experiences earlier in the week.
THE PLAYERS Championship teamed up with Birdies for the Brave this month to make a historic impact on our military – hosting a record number of military guests during a series of military outreach and appreciation activities designed to let these courageous American heroes and their families know how much their service and sacrifice are appreciated. Highlighting the activities, THE PLAYERS continued its long-standing tradition of providing complimentary admission for military members and their dependents, and discounted tickets for veterans.
When it comes to supporting our military, Scott Stallings takes things personally. During last week’s Genesis Open at The Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, where the three-time PGA TOUR champion placed fourth, Stallings took time out of his busy schedule to personally meet with veterans at the West Los Angeles VA Medical Center to express gratitude for their service and sacrifice and help boost morale. The visit took place during National Salute To Veteran Patients Week.

To celebrate Palmer’s legacy, Birdies for the Brave teamed up with Callaway Golf to honor two local wounded veterans by providing them with the unique opportunity to be fitted with their own set of custom golf clubs on the practice facility at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Fla., during the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. In addition to the fitting, the warriors enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the Callaway Equipment Truck, where TOUR players are fitted on-site during tournaments, and of course, they enjoyed a legendary beverage combination of half iced tea and half lemonade, named the “Arnold Palmer.”
Shortly after shanking the ball directly into the stands of 20,000 screaming fans on TPC Scottsdale’s No. 16, actor Mark Wahlberg, who was playing with Bubba Watson in the Wednesday Pro-Am at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, walked up to the No. 18 tee and showed his support for the men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces.
Callaway Golf joined with Birdies for the Brave this week to honor two veterans by hosting the first of 15 Callaway Warrior Club Fittings to be held in 2017. Conducted during the PGA TOUR’s CareerBuilder Challenge on Tuesday at the TPC Stadium Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta, CA, the event provided these two American heroes with the opportunity to be fitted with their own set of custom golf clubs on the practice facility and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Callaway Equipment Truck, where TOUR players are fitted on-site during tournaments. The program is designed to aid in the rehabilitation process while expressing gratitude to the courageous members of our U.S. Armed Forces for their service and sacrifice.
