To celebrate Palmer’s legacy, Birdies for the Brave teamed up with Callaway Golf to honor two local wounded veterans by providing them with the unique opportunity to be fitted with their own set of custom golf clubs on the practice facility at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Fla., during the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard. In addition to the fitting, the warriors enjoyed a behind-the-scenes tour of the Callaway Equipment Truck, where TOUR players are fitted on-site during tournaments, and of course, they enjoyed a legendary beverage combination of half iced tea and half lemonade, named the “Arnold Palmer.”
Shortly after shanking the ball directly into the stands of 20,000 screaming fans on TPC Scottsdale’s No. 16, actor Mark Wahlberg, who was playing with Bubba Watson in the Wednesday Pro-Am at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, walked up to the No. 18 tee and showed his support for the men and women of our U.S. Armed Forces.
Callaway Golf joined with Birdies for the Brave this week to honor two veterans by hosting the first of 15 Callaway Warrior Club Fittings to be held in 2017. Conducted during the PGA TOUR’s CareerBuilder Challenge on Tuesday at the TPC Stadium Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta, CA, the event provided these two American heroes with the opportunity to be fitted with their own set of custom golf clubs on the practice facility and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Callaway Equipment Truck, where TOUR players are fitted on-site during tournaments. The program is designed to aid in the rehabilitation process while expressing gratitude to the courageous members of our U.S. Armed Forces for their service and sacrifice.
Continuing its long-standing support for our military, Callaway Golf will join with Birdies for the Brave to host 15 Callaway Warrior Club Fittings during PGA TOUR tournaments in 2017. The first fitting of the season will take place on Tuesday, January 17, from 9:15 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during the CareerBuilder Challenge on the TPC Stadium Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta, California, where two American heroes will have the opportunity to be fitted with their own custom set of Callaway Golf clubs. In addition, both veterans will enjoy a mini golf lesson and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Callaway equipment truck, where they will learn about the process involved in fitting PGA TOUR players for clubs on-site during PGA TOUR tournaments.

This year, thousands of military members and their families have been touched by Birdies for the Brave through on-site engagement during PGA TOUR tournaments, fundraising events at the TOUR’s TPCs, or through programs and services provided by the 11 military homefront charities that are part of Birdies for the Brave, with the generous support of corporate partners.

As golfers fine-tuned their games at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club on the final practice day at the TOUR Championship, a 10-time PGA TOUR champion took some time out to help two local wounded heroes work on their own golf swings, as part of the Callaway Warrior Club Fitting Program. Conducted in partnership with the TOUR’s Birdies for the Brave military outreach initiative, the program is designed to aid in the rehabilitation process and express appreciation for wounded veterans’ service and sacrifice by providing them with the opportunity to be fit with their own set of custom golf clubs during a PGA TOUR tournament. The fitting at East Lake represented the fifth year in a row the TOUR Championship has hosted one of the fittings.
