Callaway Warrior Club Fitting Application

callaway logoTo aid in the physical rehabilitation and psychological well-being of our American heroes, as well as express gratitude for their service and sacrifice, Birdies for the Brave teams up with Callaway Golf Company to host Callaway Warrior Club Fittings at PGA TOUR events across the nation.

Callaway Warrior Club Fittings provide combat-wounded heroes with the unique opportunity to be fit for their own set of custom golf clubs on the driving range of a PGA TOUR event. In addition to the fitting, warriors are treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of the Callaway equipment truck where PGA TOUR players are fit while on TOUR, and often have the opportunity to interact with PGA TOUR players. To date, Callaway has teamed up with Birdies for the Brave to fit more than 130 warriors for custom clubs.

The 2019 PGA TOUR season will host 15 Callaway Warrior Club Fittings at tournaments across the nation. To inquire about opportunities to participate in the program, please complete the application below. Please be sure to include detailed information about where and when you have served, your branch, and how you sustained your injuries (sample bio below). If available, please provide a link to your bio in the Warrior Bio section. You may also upload an attachment including all requested information.

Army CPL Jones was driving in a convoy with the 106th Infantry Regiment (5th Brigade), 101st Airborne Division, in Logar Province, Afghanistan in 2013 when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED). CPL Jones doesn’t remember much of the accident, but has been told that he saw the pressure board and swerved to avoid it, taking the majority of the blast to himself. The explosion resulted in the loss of both legs, vision loss in his right eye, burns all over his body and a traumatic brain injury. CPL Jones, a competitive athlete in high school, didn’t think he would be able to play sports or compete again, but soon found a love for golf. He credits the game with helping him physically and emotionally rehabilitate.

Thank you for your interest in the Callaway Warrior Club Fitting program. While we are continuing to accept applications, please note that we have paused all correspondence regarding application status at this time.

Below are some general updates regarding the program:

  • We are currently working with Callaway Golf on a revised schedule, which will be posted on the Birdies for the Brave
  • We remain hopeful that fittings will take place in various tournament markets by the end of the calendar year
  • Applications submitted from October 2019 to present will continue to be reviewed and considered for all remaining fittings in 2020, regardless of the tournament preference listed by the applicant; there is no need to resubmit your application.
