PGA TOUR Champions tournaments, the Dominion Energy Charity Classic and Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS presented by Circle K, partnered with Operation Shower to host over 60 expectant military moms to a group baby shower and a drive through shower. All of the moms were the spouses or partners of deployed Marines, sailors, airmen or soldiers, or in some cases, were active-duty military members themselves.
PNC Bank was the presenting sponsor of the “Sea of Love”-themed event in collaboration with the Constellation FURYK & FRIENDS tournament. This pool-side event featured raffle prizes, games, and the presentation of Operation Shower’s signature “Shower In A Box” to each of the moms – gifts of high-quality products for mothers and babies that were donated by companies including Underwood Jewelry, Chicco, the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation, and The Aly Cat Series.
“Jacksonville has the third largest military presence in the country, and it is such a privilege to share in this significant moment with these families,” said Brian Bucher, PNC regional president for North Florida. “These courageous expectant mothers, whose service and sacrifice in the military and at home enable their loved ones to provide freedom and security for America, are the silent heroes who are essential to the strength of the nation and the backbone of the family. A baby shower is a perfect way to
celebrate them, ease some of the financial stress of having a newborn and provide some much-needed R&R for these extraordinary mothers-to-be.”
A few short weeks later, in Richmond, Virginia, Westrock was the presenting sponsor of the “B is for Baby” drive-through shower at the Dominion Energy Charity Classic. This was Operation Shower’s second year hosting a drive through shower here. During the event, all of the moms were also showered Operation Shower’s signature “Showers In A Box.” In addition, each mom received an array of unique, high-quality products and gift items for mothers and babies from companies including, but not limited to, Playtex Baby, Stella & Dot and Skip Hop.
“Our WestRock team was excited to shower some special military moms-to-be as they prepare to welcome a child to their family,” said Mandy Burnette, director, Corporate Giving at WestRock. “The sacrifices our military families make often impact life’s most precious moments, and it is our honor to partner with Operation Shower and Birdies for the Brave in appreciation and recognition of their service to our country.”
“It’s a privilege for us to continue our legacy of supporting military charities by honoring all of these extraordinary moms and moms-to-be during this special shower,” said Dominion Energy Charity Classic Executive Director Steve Schoenfeld.
