On August 5th, Operation Shower joined with presenting sponsor, The Mahan Foundation, to host an “Oh, Happy Day!” Virtual Baby Shower for 20 expecting and new military moms. The moms were sent Operation Shower’s signature B is for Baby box, full of gifts for both mom and baby. But, in true Operation Shower fashion, that was not all! During the one-hour Virtual Baby Shower, the moms were welcomed by Hunter and Kandi Mahan (and their adorable children), heard a few inspirational motherhood self-care tips from blogger and speaker, Elisha Beach, played games and were gifted with other surprises such as jewelry, baby care gift sets and video baby monitors!

While Operation Shower may have had to pause their in-person group showers, they are still finding creative and meaningful ways to serve military families during this challenging time, such as Virtual Baby Showers and Drive-Through Baby Showers.

“We were so thrilled to see how Operation Shower has been able to successfully pivot to a virtual format so swiftly while still providing such a special experience celebrating these expecting military moms. It was truly wonderful to still be able to personally connect with the moms, listen to their stories, shower them with gifts, and see their smiles like we would at an in-person shower. There’s clearly nothing that can hold the Operation Shower team back and we’re so happy to have been able to be a part of another joyous showering of these much-deserving military families!” – Hunter & Kandi Mahan, The Mahan Foundation
