UNITED RENTALS TEAMS WITH BIRDIES FOR THE BRAVE TO HONOR AND EMPOWER MILITARY FAMILIES DURING 2019 PGA TOUR SEASON

Underscoring its long-standing support for our military, United Rentals, Inc. – the largest equipment rental company in the world and a PGA TOUR Official Marketing Partner as the “Official Equipment Rental Supplier of the PGA TOUR” – continued to express gratitude to those who proudly serve our country by conducting a variety of military-focused programs during select PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions tournaments in 2019.

The company capped off its season of giving back to the military by sponsoring a variety of activities during the Invesco QQQ Championship and the Charles Schwab Cup Championship, the season-ending Playoff Event in the run for the Charles Schwab Cup which was held the first week of November at Phoenix Country Club.  The culmination of a hard-fought season, PGA TOUR Champions player Scott McCarron took home the coveted Charles Schwab Cup, while long-time Birdies for the Brave supporter Jerry Kelly earned second place after winning three PGA TOUR Champions titles in 2019.

Among the programs, United Rentals served as Presenting Sponsor of Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost military-exclusive hospitality chalets at eight tournaments, providing guests with an opportunity to share camaraderie with other military members and enjoy complimentary food and beverages while watching all the tournament action with premium views.  In addition, the company sponsored the Birdies for the Brave Military Caddie Program at four tournaments in 2019, providing up to 20 active duty military members at each tournament with the unique opportunity to caddie for TOUR players on the designated military appreciation hole during the Pro-Am.

A highlight of United Rentals’ military support included the creation of customized military branch staff bags, which PGA TOUR player Ryan Palmer carried throughout the week during THE NORTHERN TRUST.  Each bag represented one of the five branches of the military.  At the end of the week, the bags were autographed by Palmer and auctioned off online by United Rentals – with the proceeds donated to the 10 military homefront charities that are part of Birdies for the Brave.

Named as an “employer of choice” for transitioning military members and veterans by Military Times and a G.I. Jobs Top 100 Military-Friendly Employers and Military Spouse Employers for 2016, United Rentals employs more than 13,000 people at more than 900 branches across the U.S. and Canada.  In the U.S., more than 13% of whom are veterans or veteran spouses.  The company serves customers in the construction and industrial sectors with equipment rentals, new and used equipment sales, safety training and 24-7 support.  For more information, visit www.UnitedRentals.com/careers.
