FORT WORTH, TX – Glenmorangie, premium makers of single malt Scotch whisky, helped show support and appreciation to military members and their families during last week’s DEAN & DELUCA Invitational by raising funds for Birdies for the Brave through its sponsorship of the Birdies & Eagles Hole presented by Glenmorangie. On Saturday and Sunday of tournament week, Glenmorangie made a donation to Birdies for the Brave for every birdie and eagle made by PGA TOUR players on the No. 17 hole of Colonial Country Club. In all, a total of 30 birdies were made on the hole.
“We are thrilled to work in partnership with Birdies for the Brave to help honor and express our sincere gratitude to military members and their families,” said Moet Hennessy USA Brand Director for Glenmorangie Maxime Balay. “It’s the very least we can do for those who selflessly put their lives on the line every day to ensure our freedom and keep us safe.”
The program is one of three Birdies & Eagles Holes presented by Glenmorangie that will raise funds for military charities during PGA TOUR tournaments in 2016.
The Birdies & Eagles hole was just one of the many military outreach and appreciation activities that took place during the DEAN & DELUCA Invitational thanks to the generosity of the tournament, Colonial Country Club, the TOUR, and corporate partners. All week long, active duty and Reserve military members, military retirees, National Guard members, non-retired veterans, and first responders had the opportunity to enjoy complimentary admission, along with complimentary hospitality in the Birdies for the Brave Patriots’ Outpost presented by American Airlines. And on Friday, Glenmorangie continued to show appreciation to our military while raising funds for Birdies for the Brave by hosting a scotch tasting event and putting contest at NAS Fort Worth JRB. For every putt made by military members, a donation was made to Birdies for the Brave.
