Callaway Golf joined with Birdies for the Brave this week to honor two veterans by hosting the first of 15 Callaway Warrior Club Fittings to be held in 2017. Conducted during the PGA TOUR’s CareerBuilder Challenge on Tuesday at the TPC Stadium Course at PGA WEST in La Quinta, CA, the event provided these two American heroes with the opportunity to be fitted with their own set of custom golf clubs on the practice facility and take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Callaway Equipment Truck, where TOUR players are fitted on-site during tournaments. The program is designed to aid in the rehabilitation process while expressing gratitude to the courageous members of our U.S. Armed Forces for their service and sacrifice.

Created 10 years ago by PGA TOUR player Phil Mickelson and his wife, Amy, Birdies for the Brave works tirelessly each year to honor and show appreciation to members of our U.S. Armed Forces and their families. This year, thousands of military members and their families have been touched by Birdies for the Brave through on-site engagement during PGA TOUR tournaments, fundraising events at the TOUR’s TPCs, or through programs and services provided by the 11 military homefront charities that are part of Birdies for the Brave, with the generous support of corporate partners.
We are all blessed by the service and sacrifice of our courageous American military members, veterans and their families. We hope everyone will keep all of them in their hearts and thoughts this Veterans Day.
As golfers fine-tuned their games at Atlanta’s East Lake Golf Club on the final practice day at the TOUR Championship, a 10-time PGA TOUR champion took some time out to help two local wounded heroes work on their own golf swings, as part of the Callaway Warrior Club Fitting Program. Conducted in partnership with the TOUR’s Birdies for the Brave military outreach initiative, the program is designed to aid in the rehabilitation process and express appreciation for wounded veterans’ service and sacrifice by providing them with the opportunity to be fit with their own set of custom golf clubs during a PGA TOUR tournament. The fitting at East Lake represented the fifth year in a row the TOUR Championship has hosted one of the fittings.

The donation took place during a special ceremony on Saturday, August 20, in the Patriots’ Outpost presented by Glenmorangie, located on the No. 10 fairway at Sedgefield Country Club during the Wyndham Championship.

PGA TOUR player Billy Hurley III showed that he is just as skilled at driving his tee shot as he is driving ships in the Persian Gulf last week when he captured his first PGA TOUR championship at the Quicken Loans National. The first graduate of the United States Naval Academy to become a member of the PGA TOUR as well as the only active TOUR player who has served in the military, Hurley’s victory was all the more sweet, given the tournament’s proximity to his hometown of Leesburg, VA.
Last year, the PGA TOUR joined with golf course technology and services pioneer EZLinks Golf, Inc. to help provide recreational golfers with affordable, high-quality golf by launching TeeOff.com by PGA TOUR – an online tee time marketplace developed by EZ Links Golf LLC that connects millions of golfers with tee times at golf courses worldwide. And now, building on the success of this unique online resource, TeeOff.com by PGA TOUR – the Exclusive Provider of Online Tee Times for Birdies for the Brave – is helping golfers give back to our military each time they book a tee time online.
